Glaslyn Pizzeria & Ice Cream Parlour

In a village this small, Glaslyn Pizzeria punches well above its weight — stone-baked pizzas made with locally sourced toppings, and a legendary ice cream parlour turning out small-batch artisan flavours churned fresh on the premises every morning. It is, quite simply, the social hub of Beddgelert.

Pizza, Ice Cream & Everything In Between

The menu leans Italian but the ethos is firmly Welsh — ingredients are sourced locally wherever possible, and the ice cream is made in-house to a recipe that has earned it a devoted following across North Wales. The sausage roll with red onion and spicy cheese has become something of a cult item among regulars.

Gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options are all available, and the local ales and ciders on tap make this as good a spot for an evening meal as a post-hike lunch stop. Dogs are welcome inside, which in Beddgelert is practically a legal requirement.

Timing Your Visit

The ice cream parlour operates seasonally and is busiest in summer — arrive early or expect a queue, as tables fill quickly on warm days. One of the stations of the Welsh Highland Railway sits just outside, and if you time your visit right you may catch a vintage steam train pulling in for a water top-up — a genuinely magical bonus.

For a more refined evening out, Bistro Hebog (Y Bistro Yn Yr Hebog) just along the village is the go-to for locally sourced, carefully prepared dinners — an independent family-run restaurant that is worth booking ahead in peak season.
