Beauly Village Square & Campbell's of Beauly
Beauly's wide, handsome market square is the social heartbeat of this award-winning Highland village — lined with stone buildings, independent shops, and floral displays that have earned it both Scotland in Bloom and Britain in Bloom titles. It is the kind of high street that makes you slow down and linger.
A Square with Eight Centuries of History
The broad square has gathered the Highlands for eight centuries, and on summer Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm it still does — a pipe band and Highland dancers perform right in the open air, free for anyone who happens to wander by. The Market Cross on the High Street is a Category B Listed Building, a small but proud civic landmark at the square's centre.
In August, the Bright Beauly Fair revives the old street-market tradition with craft stalls, local produce, and food vendors spilling across the cobbles, while seasonal markets pop up throughout the year offering Highland delicacies and handmade goods.
Campbell's of Beauly — A Living Highland Institution
Established in 1858, Campbell's of Beauly is a traditional Scottish tailor and country outfitter that still makes bespoke estate tweed for Highland estates and visiting royalty. Step inside for the characterful, rustic interior alone — bolts of tartan, hand-stitched tweeds, and classic gifts fill every corner of this remarkable shop.
Nearby, The Old School Beauly and Iain Marr Antiques round out the independent retail scene, while the square's cafés and delis make it easy to graze your way through a happy morning without ever leaving the postcode.
