Practical tips for the climb
A via ferrata harness and helmet are mandatory; rental sets are available from climbing shops in town. Start before 9 am in summer to avoid the midday heat on the sun-baked south-facing rock.
The descent path loops back through olive groves and rejoins the town at the foot of the castle rock, making a satisfying half-day circuit that combines nature, history, and a well-earned gelato at the bottom.
