A Record-Breaking Ride Above the Archipelago
The Hon Thom Cable Car holds the Guinness World Record as the world's longest three-rope sea-crossing cable car, stretching 7,899 metres from An Thoi station to Hon Thom Island in three linked spans.
Each large glass cabin carries up to 30 passengers and uses a three-rope system that keeps the ride remarkably stable, even over open water — so you can keep your camera steady for the full 360-degree panoramic view of the An Thoi archipelago below.
As you pass over Hon Dua and Hon Roi, look down for sharp grey limestone rocks, patches of colourful coral reef, tiny white-sand coves, and the full sweep of An Thoi fishing port — the largest on Phu Quoc.
Hon Thom Island: What Awaits at the Other End
Hon Thom (Pineapple Island) is the largest of the 15 islands in the An Thoi group and the gateway to Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park, where water slides, a wave pool and a coral-reef snorkel trail fill a full afternoon.
The island still has a working fishing village — colourful boats line the shore, a small market sells fresh fruit and fish, and the pace is blissfully unhurried compared with the mainland resort strip.
